This policy explains what information [BRAND] (“we”, “us”) collects when you use this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and plain.

The short version

  • We use privacy-friendly analytics that do not use cookies to track you across sites.
  • We collect your email address only if you give it to us, and only to send what you asked for.
  • Quiz answers stay in the page address. We do not store them unless you send yourself your results by email.
  • Retailers we link to may set their own cookies when you visit them.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

Analytics

We use a privacy-friendly analytics service to count page views and understand which pages are useful. It does not use advertising cookies or build a profile of you across other websites. It records information such as the page visited, the referring website, and general device and country information.

We also record outbound clicks: when you click a retailer button, we log the page, the button’s position on the page, and which product and retailer it was for. This tells us which pages help readers, and is not linked to your identity.

Email

If you sign up for deal alerts or ask us to email your quiz results, we collect your email address and pass it to our email service provider to deliver those emails. With quiz results, we also store your result type, budget, and recommended products so the email can include them.

Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also ask us to delete your email address at any time by contacting us.

The quiz

Your quiz answers are kept in the address of the page (the URL) so you can reload or share your results. They are not stored on our servers unless you choose to email yourself the results. If you share a results link, anyone with the link can see the answers in it.

When you click a retailer link, you leave our site. The retailer, or the affiliate network that runs its program, may set a cookie on your device to record that you came from us, so that we can be credited for a purchase. These cookies are controlled by the retailer or network and are covered by their privacy policies, not this one. See our affiliate disclosure.

Hosting

Our site is hosted by a content delivery provider, which processes standard technical information (such as IP addresses) to deliver pages and protect against abuse.

Your choices and rights

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, unsubscribe from emails at any time, and ask us to access or delete the personal information we hold about you. Depending on where you live, including California and other US states, you may have additional rights under local law. To make a request, email hello@[DOMAIN].

Children

This site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
